Simply go to the Contacts application, swipe down from the top bezel to reveal the contact menu then click on Settings. Scroll down the settings page and under SIM card, click on Import Contacts from SIM Card. Switch to the Gmail Contacts address book and search for the contact you had on your SIM card. It should now appear there. I only have a Gmail account added for contacts and all my new contacts added to local contacts and synced to Gmail. When I add a new contact I always click the add new button and let it automatically link it with the appropriate Facebook/twitter account. I noticed if you add a new number to an existing Facebook account it won't sync with Gmail.

- Open Contacts.

- Now open Gmail in your computer's web browser and click the Gmail text link that is listed on the upper left side of the Gmail profile.
- Select Contacts and then you should see a page where all the contacts from your Android smartphone have been stored.
